I was a nickel
but you called me:
brilliant
sharp
intelligent
genius.
but you called me:
brilliant
sharp
intelligent
genius.
By your loving alchemy
the nickel turned gold.
I believed
I am brilliant
an intellect
a glittering star.
One day the nickel revealed itself:
Horrified, you called me a fraud
a wolf inside a sheep
a crook , a charcoal
and like a stranger never heard, never seen,
you parted your ways.
The metamorphosed nickel
is searching its lost identity,
its real essence.
